I have been working in the cutting room sector for almost forty years.
I started as a technician and, over time, grew professionally.
Today… no, I won’t say exactly what I do. I prefer to let experience and content speak for themselves.
Over the years I have developed software for cutting machines, software for spreading machines, and software for nesting calculations — what in the industry are often referred to as cut plans.
But my work has not been limited to software alone: I have also worked on the mechanical side, on process analysis, on motorization design, and on the technical evolution of machines as complete systems.
I decided to share this experience by creating this website.
The goal is simple: to describe what I have learned over many years of work, to share real-world experience, to explain technical aspects that often remain hidden, to talk about common mistakes, smart solutions, and physical and technological limits.
From time to time there will also be room for a few curiosities from the past, some reflections on the present, and a few hypotheses about the future of the cutting room.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I will try to publish one or two articles per week. If you feel like following along, I hope to see you here often.
And, who knows: if time allows, I would also like to develop some small software tools dedicated to this site, to be shared freely with those who work in this field every day.
